After a resounding 2018 edition, the entire organisation is already in place for 2019 with the official announcement of the date and courses today, Wednesday October 3 @ 18:00, then the opening of entries in a few days and the event itself Sunday May 26th 2019.
The story begins here! New grand routes, an ULTRA SWIMRUNMAN ® with 1400m of swimming in the largest canyon in Europe! Following the sporting and popular successes of its first two editions, the SWIMRUNMAN ® Gorges DU VERDON returns in 2019 for the delight of lovers of Swimrun and the program is tempting. Three distances will indeed be proposed for the first time. In addition to the now usual CLASSIC Format (25km600) and HALF Format(45km350), the very first ULTRA SWIMRUNMAN ® FRANCE Which will be born next year, positioning itself as the true challenge of the weekend. Swimming 11km925, 51km620, 2115m for a total distance of 63km545, the first ULTRA SWIMRUNMAN ® FRANCE will be able to seduce long distance specialists and reward Swimrunners Emeritus on the "Finish line".
From Piazza Ste Anne to Salles-sur-Verdon, the courses, sometimes in the Department of Var, sometimes in the Department of the Alpes de Haute-Provence, will cross all the communes bordering the Lac de Sainte-Croix, in the heart of the Verdon Regional Natural Park. These two Departments And six communes (Les Salles-sur-Verdon, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, La Palud-sur-Verdon, Aiguines, Bauduen and Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon) will host this third edition.
If the turquoise blue waters of the Lac de Sainte-Croix are the central theme of the SWIMRUNMAN ® Gorges du VERDON. as they have been from the start, this year the organisers have tried to create every exceptional and magnificent crossing of the gorges they could imagine, magical moments in the Most beautiful canyon in Europe, each participant should take away truly unforgettable memories!
With +1000 participants expected and prize money for the "winners", the 2019 SWIMRUNMAN® GORGES DU VERDON is expected to sell out well before the event date (In 2018 the courses had sold out over two months before the date of the event). More than seventy French Departments and seven nationalities were represented on the start line last year, and the growing development of SWIMRUNMAN ® FRANCE events is helping to attract an ever increasing numbers of French and European swimrunners.

Sunday Oct 14th is the date to register for one of the most beautiful swimrun on the continent. In 2019, in order to bring the world elite to the Salles-sur-Verdon, the Steering Committee are establishing a system of Prize Money for the ULTRA SWIMRUNMAN ®, equally divided between the teams, women, mixed and men. In recognition for these athletes who will contribute, by their coming, to the generation of global media attention around the event.
