| I have been adventure racing for 8 years now and I have gradually gained experience and endurance fitness. It all started with the MDS and Desert Cup in 2001 and then I got into AR proper. I raced with team Aberdeen Asset Management for a number of years and we enjoyed some great races together including the Adrenalin Rush (2nd) and the Southern Traverse (5th) both in 2003. I competed at my first AR worlds Champs in Newfoundland in 2004 coming 10th and again in New Zealand in 2005 coming 11th. We won the Wilderness ARC in 2005 and 2006 and became British Champions. My two little boys came along in the following years which limited me to mainly UK domestic races but in 2009 we won the Adventure Racing World Championships in Portugal. We have recently got a new sponsor and now race as team adidas TERREX, we are pumped for 2010 and look forward to trying to retain our World Champion title. |
