| After several years of international road cycling ending 94/95 I moved away FROM competition and just did sport for fun! Mainly white water kayaking, mountain biking and of course a little road cycling! Then late 1999 my first Ace Race and... dodgy knees! (as a cyclist 'running' was not a word I understood!)I persisted through this and a stress fracture - running induced of course - invested in the help of a podiatrist and some orthotics and slowly improved. I like the idea of adventure racing as you don't have to train much in any one discipline, and if you don't feel like cycling you can leave the bike at home and go for a paddle! And the more disciplines you do.... the more fun the training is! |
