Thank you also everyone that showed up, raced in killer heat, managed to keep their sense of humor, and perservered. That wasn't an easy task at times. Can't forget our TA queen Deanna and our girl on sleepmonster duty. Our EMT Matt who earned his bucks and to the camp's EMT Abby, who got a crash course on adventure racing! And of course my heartfelt thanks to Anthony...you are a visionary and kindred spirit my friend...what more can I say?
So how'd it shake out? MOAT/Mannatech I and II took 1st and 2nd respectively both coming in at right around 14 hours. Vignette took 3rd, HoustonFitAR Knights of Ni took 4th and Outcasts took 5th...Art has gotten the results posted already (wow) for the entire race
Okay, on to memorable moments;
-Let's just say 27 gallons of HEED and I lost track of water gallons!
-Need2Bleed taking a header, medical response, some goo, some bandaging and off they went to complete the course!
-Team Endeavor coming back from the dead...to finish the race!
-Lot's of stories about teams helping teams (gotta' love that)...tubes, whole bike tires (thanks Rick), check points, etc!
--Happy hour and game show...do I have to say more?
-An unbelievable amount of teams that unfortunately lost a teammate to the heat but still went on to complete the course unranked...that is no easy feat!
There are tons more stories and we would love to hear some of ya'lls memorable moments and stories.
