The Hebridean landscape - Davy BroniFor those not 'in the know', the Hebridean Challenge is one of the classics of the UK racing scene. Possibly the most logistically complex Adventure Race in the world, set in the stunningly wild landscape of the Outer Hebrides, this is a race unlike any other. Teams of five, four or two must contend with barren moorland, open sea, high mountain and long, undulating open road to run, road bike, mountain bike, kayak and swim their way from Castlebay on Barra to the Butt of Lewis, the full length of the Hebridean chain. Staying amongst, and being fed by, local communities up the islands, 'The Heb' has to be one of the most accessible and friendly races in the UK calendar, and should be a 'must-do' item on any racer's ticklist.
