The starting signal for the 15th TOUR Transalp, one of the world's biggest stage races for the average Joe, will be fired Sunday 25th on the Promenadenstraße right in the heart of Sonthofen, Germany at 9:30 AM. A big field of hobby cyclists will tackle a total distance of 867.24 km and 18,233 metres of climbing from the Allgau via Imst, Naturns, Bormio, Livigno, Aprica and Pieve di Ledro to Arco.

1,000 participants coming from more than 25 countries underline that the adventure of crossing the Alps on a road bike is still one worth travel for.

Although half of the racers comes from Germany, there are cyclists from United Arab Emirates, Australia, Hong Kong or Zimbabwe joining the classic staged in the teams of two format. And the journey has been worth it as Race Organisers once again combined well-known stages and cols with brand new legs.

Besides Passo Stelvio, Timmelsjoch, Fuorn Pass, Bernina Pass or the legendary Mortirolo racers will also explore the unknown on the last two stages which lead through the beautiful landscape west of Lake Garda.
