Naber and Johansen Triumph in Scott Enduro Series Opener
Press Release / 01.05.2018
Tanja Naber (GER) and Zakarias Johansen (NOR) have secured the win in the Enduro race of the 25th FSA BIKE Festival Garda Trentino and therefore taken over the lead in the brand new Scott Enduro Series which will also make a stop at the festivals in Willingen and Saalfelden Leogang later this year.
Naber dominated the women's event with a total time of 16:20 minutes after clocking in the best time on three of the five stages which led through the backcountry side of Lake Garda.
Rank two and three of the race which featured a total distance of 40 km and 1,400 metres of climbing went to Theresia Schwenk (GER; +32.02) who had placed second in Saturday's Ghost City Eliminator and Petra Bernhard from Austria (+1:16.54).
On the men's side of things, Johansen, since beginning of the year a member of the Cube Action Team, paved his way to victory on the first three stages where he held the upper hand on his rivals finally bringing home a total time of 13:18.56 minutes to Arco where the Enduro field had started its adventure early in the morning.
Although Ghost Racing Team pro Michal Prokop (CZE) was able to catch up on the final two stages, the 37-year-old from Prague had to settle for second (13:21.94) like last year – this time with the tiny gap of only 3.38 seconds.
2016 German Enduro Champion Christian Textor of Team Bulls rounded out the podium as third (13:32.56) finishing the event 14 seconds behind of Johansen.
