Mud and Sweat launches new events for 2013
News Release / 13.03.2013
The Mud and Sweat team have spent the winter, getting creative, riding/running in lots of new areas and planning some awesome new events for the remainder of 2013.
New to their events calendar are the following events:
The Moor Enduro Mountain Bike event, will take place in the heart of Dartmoor on Sunday 29th September 2013. It will consist of a number of timed cross country stages on the moor - picking the best of the areas, with a selection of stages. Stages will take place on bridleways, tracks, open moorland and forested areas around the Princetown and Burrator area. Competitors will ride between the stages, in their own time, within the overall completion time of 6 hours.
You can enter either the Full Long Event (5 Stages), with the overall distance likely to be approximately 35km, or you can enter the Short Event (3 Stages), with the overall distance likely to be approximately 27km. Each stage varies in length and style, being between 3-9km each. We will be using the SportIdent timing system to time the individual stages. The winner will be the rider with the shortest accumulative time from all five stages.
The inaugural Mud Runner event, will take place in a secret location (to be announced in April) in South Devon on Sunday 13th October 2013. It will be an exciting and tough 10km off road running race - expect some small natural obstacles and plenty of mud!
The Mud and Sweat Duathlon event, will take place at The River Dart Country Park in Devon on Saturday 23rd November 2013. It will be all be off-road and will consist of a run (5km), bike (15km) and run (2-3km), with all runners/riders following a set marked route.
The Night Rider event, will take place at Haldon Forest Park on Saturday 7th December 2013. It will be a unique night cross-country mountain bike race – the first to ever be granted permission to run at Haldon. You will follow a set marked route within the forest, all under the cover of darkness and your bike lights, and will do a number of laps, dependent on whether you enter the Long or Short courses (estimated distances – 20km and 10km).
