ECCO INDOOR TRAIL Back Again in 2014
News Release / 20.03.2013
In almost a year the Westfalenhallen will open their doors again for the ECCO INDOOR TRAIL. PLAN B and RUNNER'S WORLD invite you to the third edition of this spectacular event from March 14-16, 2014. Real trailrunners and all of you who want to become one should note the date.
Four weeks after the ECCO INDOOR TRAIL 2013 there are no more visible traces of the 3,000 runners and 10,000 visitors in the Westfalenhallen. The elaborately created parcours has been removed very quickly and all the hints of the sportive highlight at the start of the season have been carefully taken off. All that remains are the memories of three exciting days, a spectacular parcours, satisfied participants and the anticipation of next year. The ECCO INDOOR TRAIL will return again: PLAN B and RUNNER'S WORLD invite you again to run in the Westfalenhallen from March 14-16, 2014 and promise you a great event.

"The feedback from the participants but also from our partners was very positive. That's why it is very clear for us that there will be again an ECCO INDOOR TRAIL in Dortmund in 2014. We have already started with the preparations and we are sure that we will be able to present an even more attractive event to all participants, exhibitors and visitors next year", said the project manager Julia Conrad.
The extent of the trailrunning excitement in Dortmund can be seen not only in the numerous positive responses from the runners that arrived from different parts of Germany but also from Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Slovenia and even Russia, but also in the reaction of Dortmund's mayor Ullrich Sierau: "It was really a lot of fun for me to take part in the ECCO INDOOR TRAIL. I think this event brought me to run again. Seen from that perspective this event had for me personally a big advantage. But I was especially impressed by the commitment of the schools in Dortmund. It was really nice to see with how much ambition and fun the 1,000 boys and girls performed their tasks."
Sabine Loos, the CEO of the Westfalenhallen, was amazed by the ECCO INDOOR TRAIL 2013 too: "It is always surprising to see what can be done in this traditional hall. We knew already the parcours from last year, but I must say that the event in 2013 was even better. The demands on the runners were higher, especially the sand and snow passages as well as the bridges were very challenging. Personally I had a lot of fun and it would be fantastic if we could enthuse even more spectators and interested persons for the event in 2014. We want to make trailrunning familiar to people who would like to make a start in this fascinating sport."
