Terra Nova Unveils Star Performing Back-packing Tent

World-beating outdoor gear specialist Terra Nova Equipment has unveiled two new class-leading four season tents which launch at the end of this month (January).
Pushing the boundaries of innovation, the UK-designed one-person Southern Cross 1 and two-person Southern Cross 2 (pictured above) are completely freestanding lightweight tents with pegging to a minimum.
The models have already attracted the industry spotlight, with the Southern Cross 1 being nominated as a finalist in the UK Outdoor Industry Awards 2016. The winner will be announced at the Outdoor Industries Association Conference, in March.
Created to withstand the harshest of outdoor conditions, the two tents take their design inspiration from the award-winning Laser style which has become the industry blueprint for lightweight tents but include an additional pole to provide extra stability and structure.
The tents pitch with the flysheet and inner together in just four to five minutes and weigh only 1.59kg packed and 2.1kg packed respectively. Features include:
· Self-supporting; no pegs needed
· The Southern Cross 1 has one porch and door
· The Southern Cross 2 has two porches (which are the same size) and two doors for easy access for both occupants
· The porch door on both tents can be fixed open in several ways to provide the most suitable weather protection for the current conditions
· Fully taped and guaranteed waterproof flysheet in lightweight nylon ripstop, with a hydrostatic head of 5000mm
· Fully taped and guaranteed waterproof groundsheet in lightweight nylon ripstop, with a hydrostatic head of 10000mm
· Terra Nova's own branded TN Reflex lightweight alloy poles
· Southern Cross1 weight – 1.47kg (minimum – tent and poles only) and 1.59kg (packed)
· Southern Cross 2 weight – 1.99kg (minimum – tent and poles only) and 2.1kg (packed).
