­SULA and SALVO are two new women's and men's daypacks that focus on ventilation. Gregory's Freespan technology ensures the right amount of ventilation for your back, without reducing capacity. SULA and SALVO are ideal for a wide range of activities from hiking and travelling to shopping or day-to-day use.

In the past, anyone wanting effective backpack ventilation had to settle for a compromise. Ventilated carry systems meant lower capacities and making do with the centre of gravity further from your back. This is because trampoline-like frame designs create a large gap between your back and your pack. The load's centre of gravity sits a long way away from the body. As a result, the pack feels heavier.

Thanks to Gregory's Freespan technology, Sulva and Sula combine pleasant ventilation with a centre of gravity close to your body and a relatively large capacity. This is made possible by the lumbar pad and rigid spring-steel frame. The frame is covered with mesh and guarantees full air circulation, while the lumbar pad ensures the load is transferred to the lumbar vertebrae. Therefore, the pack sits close to the back without the carry system restricting the capacity.

Two zip pockets on the hip fins of the 24L and 28L models provide enough space for essential items you might need in a hurry. And there's room for a smartphone and sun glasses in the front pocket which has a soft lining to prevent scratches. Further clever features, such as side mesh pockets and compression straps, tick all the boxes.

Both packs are available from March 2016 in 18, 24 or 28 litre capacities. For men, the Salvo's available in burnish orange, true black and black/macaw green. Women can choose the Sula in dove grey, bright green and ruby red.
