PH Designs - summer lighting

­One year on ... and PH Designs are again launching their annual specialist "Summer-Lightning Collection" of down gear.  

This years collection is again pushing the shear limits of light weight down gear, it includes the lightest full spec sleeping bag in the world (10% lighter than last years), and to then to make it even lighter, we've made a "baseless" version with no down in the base. I know you're familiar with concept, and in this case we've a sleeping bag that's lighter than a pair of mountaineering wool socks at 180gr, which has got to be a bit a milestone in the sleeping bag world. Also included in the range, The SummerLite Jacket is incredibly light, and the WaferLite vest is just 80gr.
 
This year PH Designs also ran the Summer Lightning Competition and two peoples ideas were picked out to have their products designed, developed and field tested and they are included in this collection. These include a Down blanket come poncho, a down balaclava for use with hood-less bags and quilts, and a quilt-bag which is an idea combining sleeping bag lower part and quilt top part to give more freedom of movement than you get in a lightweight sleeping bag.
