Gregory Baltoro And Deva Trekking Backpacks True Workhorses

Press Release / 27.05.2016

Gregory has done such a good job revamping its two Baltoro (men's) and Deva (women's) backpacks that you could be forgiven for thinking they're new. But their names are here to stay because the backpack specialist's two top models have a legendary reputation on long, arduous treks. Above all the new suspension system has been improved and allows more freedom of movement, but transfers load superbly at the same time. Despite more extensive features, both models have been slightly pared down. But the characteristic of the reliable old workhorse remains. Faithful companions for anyone wanting maximum comfort despite heavy loads. "Baltoro and Deva have been our flagship products for years. Therefore, when redesigning them, we took a lot of care with every detail," explains John Sears who has spearheaded product development at Gregory for 14 years. "We were again able to boost the quality of the backpacks significantly by developing a new suspension system, adding new features, updating their look and reducing their weight."

Gregory has given Baltoro und Deva its new Response A3 suspension system. At the heart of the suspension system lie two shoulder and waist belts which can move separately from one another and are adjustable in two positions. The belts are connected with one another via a 7075 aluminium wire frame. As a result, the whole frame automatically adapts at an angle to the body of the person carrying it. The backpack is comfortable to carry, wellbalanced and can be adjusted at any time, however heavy the load. Gregory offers Baltoro and Deva in three different sizes and in three different back lengths for each size. "This is a must, if a backpack's to fit properly. Let's face it, there isn't one shoe size either," comments John Sears. Similarly to all large Gregory backpacks, the 3D, pre-shaped shoulder- and waist-belts made of LifeSpan EVA foam also come in different sizes. They are now even easier to exchange, allowing better customisation of the packs' ergonomics.

The entire middle back section is ventilated, making it pleasant to carry. Detachable, 10 mm lumbar padding (Lumbar Tune) means perfect adjustment in the lumbar region.

Further features:
• Ventilated, pre-shaped back section made of durable LifeSpan foam with anti-slip lumbar padding with a silicone print
• "Sidekick Pack": compartment on the inside for a hydration system which also serves as a detachable, ultra-lightweight daypack for climbing mountains or heading off into the city
