DART-nuun and the Beast adventure racing series join forces to offer novices a unique racing experience

11.04.2006
DART-nuun, the Pacific Northwest's premier adventure racing team, has joined forces with the producers of the BEAST, Barebones Evening Adventure Sprint Tournament (www.beastrace.com), to give novice racers the unique opportunity of racing with members of the team in the local series. Through the race series' mix and match teaming options, members of DART-nuun will be teamed up with not only new racers but also anyone looking for the opportunity to race with different people. This will allow racers to gain valuable adventure racing skills, insight into racing as an elite level team and to get to know members of the racing community.

"We are looking to bust the myth that Adventure Racing is too demanding for the weekend warrior and get involved in a hands on manner," stated Ryan VanGorder who will be racing amongst the other competitors in this years races. The team sees this as a great way to generate more interest in adventure racing and also hopes that more people will be tempted to participate in their first race.

"I am excited for the sport and that we can work together like this" said the elated race director Roger Michel. The race series has provided a great venue for experienced racers to get valuable training and beginners to get their feet wet in what can arguably be called the fastest growing sport in the nation. Look for four races between April and August where DART-nuun will be racing amongst the crowd.

The BEAST adventure racing series is held on weeknights in the greater Seattle area. The events are barebones, meaning the emphasis is on providing a quality course. Races will have winning times of 1.5-2 hours and series points will be earned for each race. More information can be found at their website address, www.beastrace.com.
