“This is something we have been wanting to do for a long time,†said Two Wheel Promotions Course Designer Bill Van Haren.“It\'s rare to find any location with so many off-road trails linking up – this will be a \'true\' mountain bike marathon.â€
With a long and successful history of staging mountain bike events, The Coffs Mountain Marathon will be the first event the Gold Coast based Two Wheel Promotions has taken to Northern New South Wales and is recognition of the growing presence of mountain biking in the region.
It also offers a rare opportunity for riders from the major centres of Brisbane and Sydney to take each other on, in a location which can only be described as paradise!
The event has been structured to cater for both enthusiast riders and hard -core endurance mountain bikers. Riders are being offered the choice of competing in the 100 kilometre \'Coffs Hard\' or the 50 kilometre \'Plantation Coffs Soft\' event, which despite the name is guaranteed to be demanding. “The course is designed to be both interesting and challenging,†Van Haren said.
