Morocco Bound?

Saga D’Aventures, the organising company behind the X-adventure Raid series and the Raid Gauloises, are staging a new race in Morocco later this year - The Morocco Adventure Cup.It’s similar in many ways to the Raid series as it’s a stage race with a team of 4, of which only 3 race at any one point, the other taking on the role of assistant/substitute. However, this one is longer, with 4 stages in 5 days, including the usual disciplines, plus that French favourite, in-line skating. Each of the teams must set up their own camp at night but don’t have to provide their own food.
It sounds like an extension of the Raid series idea into a supported multi-day race and could appeal to teams looking to step up from weekend racing into expedition length events. That’s a big jump and this race offers a stepping stone on the way.
The organisers are promising a course to explore some of the most spectacular parts of Morocco, starting on Sept. 28th from the heights of Mount Toubkal and finishing on Oct. 4th at Essaouira on the coast. It costs €3950 per team, but that does not include the cost of getting there, or accommodation at the start and finish.
Details and a link to the race web site are in the calendar.
