Sea2Summit Annouces 2007 Schedule

Heading into our 12th race season we are taking a bit of a new direction for our race series. The 2007 sea2summit race series will consist of 2 regional races - Whistler and Lac Ste. Marie. We are focusing our energies into 2 races. Our goal is to \"do less, really well\".1. Whistler: September 8 & 9, 2007
Our Whistler event saw much success with the changes we made this past September. Moving both days to the Pemberton/Whistler Valley was by all accounts an improvement - less logistics for support teams, racers stayed in Whistler both nights, strong support from Whistler Municipality and Whistler Tourism, and most of all there is a fantastic variety of established world class trails to work with for NEW RACE ROUTES for years to come. Whistler was our original race, and we plan to focus on it more than ever without having to travel across Canada to execute other races.
This is what we mean by \"doing less really well\". With less on our plate as an event company, our racers will get a better all around value - from the improved communications once you register, to the enjoyable and challenging race routes, to better draw prizes, awards, and the summary slide show.
2. Lac Ste. Marie: August 25 & 26, 2007
The race at Lac Ste. Marie will be back with many improvements as well. The venue will be moving from the ski hill to the beautiful lake side park at the Municipalite de Lac Ste. Marie. The race will have a much different feel to it at this venue, with camping for the entire family right at the start/finish area literally right at the lake side. Live entertainment, an outdoor industry expo, and an outdoor pig roast dinner with festivities will be the icing on the cake of an all new race route. The event will be managed by a local and long time course director, Jean McMillan. Salut !
New Event for 2007!
And last but not least... we are proud to announce for 2007 that we have been involved in the planning of an exciting new epic adventure mountain bike race - SEVEN. SEVEN is a 7 day mountain bike stage race from Victoria to Whistler. For approximately 6 months, we have been involved in the planning and design of something very new, taking everything we already know, and what we have learned in 11 years, and spinning it into something special with a group of talented people. We are proud to have been the first adventure race in Canada, and now we are very proud to be involved in the second 7 Day Mountain Bike Stage Race in Canada.
