Registration for the 7th Edition of the Coast to Coast Challenge-Costa Rica opens November 30, 2006; the race begins at noon on March 11, 2007. This year's race field is limited to 15 teams. The race organization has put together a 10 day race itinerary for international teams – all you have to do is get to Costa Rica and the race organizers will take care of the rest (logistics only, the race is up to you). The registration form is online and located at: www.adventureracingcostarica.com/form.htm.

This year’s 7th Edition of the Coast to Coast Challenge will start on the Pacific Coast and teams will bike, hike, raft and sea kayak along a 450 km route traversing Costa Rica from Coast to Coast. The 2007 Coast to Coast Challenge is a 5 day unsupported expedition style race. The race organization will transport team equipment (2 or 4 cases + 4 bikes) from San Jose to the start, back to San Jose from the finish and to all transition areas in between. All race instructions and maps for the race will be given to teams 2 hours before the start. Stages will vary in length and duration but for the most part they will be long. Teams can expect to be in remote areas of the country for long periods of time.

The winning team is expected to complete the course in less than 100 hours while teams traveling at a more leisurely pace can use up the entire 138 hours to race. Mountain bikes, sea kayaks, whitewater raft and their own 2 feet will be their means of transportation as they travel from Pacific to Caribbean - up and over the continental divide.

Teams can expect to travel through tropical rain & cloud forest, up and over peaks of 10,000 feet, through river carved canyons and along country roads passing typical Costa Rican villages. As in past editions of the race, stages will be long and through remote areas of the country.

The official race information package will be sent to registered teams 1 month before the start of the race. For more information please check out the race website at www.adventureracingcostarica.com/ctoc.html or contact the race organizers at info@adventureracingcostarica.com.
