Rob Howard / 29.11.2006
On 1st December at 0700 GMT entries for ARWC 2007 in Scotland open on the website at www.arwc2007.com.

The race is one of the most anticipated of the coming year, promising the opportunity to race across the Scottish Highlands, islands and coastline, one of Europe’s most varied, scenic and challenging landscapes. The race is based in the town of Fort William, ‘The Outdoor Capital of the UK’ and begins on May 26th. The course will cover over 500km with more than 25,000m of climbing, and teams will race non-stop and unsupported, with the course closing on June 2, after which the new World Champions of Adventure Racing will be crowned.

The organising team of the host race (Wilderness ARC) are put together from ACE Races and Detail Events, the UK’s two biggest race providers, and they are expecting the 45 available places to fill quickly. Over 80 teams have already expressed an interest in competing and received detailed race information, and some high profile international teams have already qualified through the World Series, most recently Team SOLE (USA), who won EcoMotion Pro in Brazil this month.

Entries will be made online (using the existing ACE Races system) and although entry is not on a strict ‘first come, first served’ basis Race Director Phil Humphreys is urging all interested teams to enter as early as possible, even if team composition is not complete at this early stage.
