Primal Quest on Hold
Rob Howard / 23.02.2007
For many months now teams have been asking when will Primal Quest be staged in 2007. It was hoped that the next venue would be announced at the end of last years race in Utah, and there were even hints of a venue outside the USA for the first time, but months dragged by and it was clear the organisation were having difficulties getting everything into place for such a huge event.Now a news release sent to PQ Racers, Volunteers, Staff & Fans has confirmed the race is ‘on hold’, and although it does not suggest any likely timescale until the next event, it does at least let everyone know work is ongoing towards staging the next Primal Quest.
The full text of the news release is;
Our sincere apologies for not officially communicating with everyone sooner regarding the status of the next Primal Quest Expedition Adventure Race.
Since the conclusion of Primal Quest Utah, we have been diligently trying to make arrangements to enable the race to take place in 2007 and beyond. As you know, PQ is a complex undertaking that requires substantial planning, financing and partnerships in order to maintain the high quality standard that PQ is known for.
We realize placing the event on hold affects the racing community to a great degree, but please know we are continuing to explore every option in staging the expedition in the future and appreciate all the input we\'ve received.
On behalf of our entire team, we sincerely appreciate your support and wish you success in the upcoming racing season.
