Mars Challenge

Phil Waters / 03.04.2007
A few changes this year should prove interesting, the event is now \"draft legal\" (see the rules on this), it should make the first run faster than ever with competitors looking to find a fast wheel for the bike leg.

However the run is longer, organisers have promised that they wont be charging for the extra bit, and its only 1.1km, so the overall distance is 21.1km.

The paddle leg has also adopted a change, no distance, but a second cut off at Lake Connewarre Lookout of 3.15pm, the 1pm cut off at the start still applies but due to an incoming tide and a 5.40pm sunset organisers have put this in place and hope you respect their descision. The good news is the finish line is 9m lower than the start of the paddle, so its down hill :).
