Surprises awaiting racers here include big mountains, lakes, green valleys, ancient villages,wild waters, and wildlife including bears and eagles, on the Kurtun Adventure Race, taking place in the Kurtun Highlands of Turkey this July 11-14.This is the first adventure race to take place in the Anatolian Black Sea Region. The Kurtun Adventure Race will feature a special discipline with a local flavour for adventurers: Mule Riding. The mule is the strongest pack animal in the highlands. Other classic disciplines will include mountain biking, canoeing, rafting, adventure running and navigation – but this will be the first time that mule riding is an first AR discipline in the world.
You’ll probably be hungry along the route. You will be able to visit local highlanders special homes, where you can find local specialties fresh milk, or the special energy desserts “pestil†and “komeâ€.
The race will be non-stop, continuing both day and the night. You will find yourself challenges, you may become lost, tired or frustrated... But you have to find your way, push your partner, earn your victory.
