Raid the North comes to Wells Gray
Geoff Langford / 16.07.2007
How many of you have been to Wells Gray? How many have had it on their list? Me too, so join me there and let\'s experience it like we never wouldotherwise!
Raid the North - Wells Gray Country. August 24-26, 36 hours, 125km of traditional coed adventure racing.
REAL WILDERNESS. REAL NAVIGATION. REAL ADVENTURE. It\'s what Raid the North is recognized for. We\'ll lay out a safe and challenging racecourse that will test your team\'s resolve, and push your personal limits. Strategize your own routes between checkpoints, decide when (and if) you\'ll eat or sleep. Push hard and choose the Advanced Section, or enjoy the highlights on the Regular Course. Our new inflatable whitewater kayaks will open up exciting paddling experiences. Certified ropes specialists will ensure breathtaking, memorable descents and traverses.
Wells Gray Country, north of Kamloops, BC is one of those magical locations we\'ve been working on for years. A little off the beaten path, and certainly less-discovered than it deserves, Wells Gray Country is a brilliant collection of all that makes Canada\'s wilderness so world-renowned.
Canyons cut by years of raging rivers, whitewater to thrill your soul, waterfalls four times higher than Niagara, views across valleys that extend to the future, rugged mountainous elevation, dormant volcanoes, lakes of crystal, plateaus and grasslands exploding with wildflowers, all packed into 125kms of incredibly memorable adventure racing.
How\'s that for a don\'t-miss event?
There are no road signs here. Only Real Wilderness, Real Navigation, and Real Adventure. This will be a weekend you will never forget.
