The Race for the GoLite/USARA National Championship Race heats up.

The start of the GoLite/USARA National Championship Adventure Race is set to begin on November 2, 2007 in Potosi, Missouri. Coed teams of 3 have been competing in the regional qualifiers for a spot in this prestigious race to see who deserves to wear the crown of National Champion. Presently 46 teams have qualified for the race by placing in the top three of the coed division in the regional qualifiers. With only 17 qualifier races left before the big event teams not yet in the mix have their work cut out for them.Additionally the team ranked number 1 in the USARA rankings will be given free entry into the race, of the current top 10 teams in the ranking 6 have already secured their spots via regional race wins. The number 1 spot is held by Berlin Bike out of Bloomfield, CT with a cumulative score of 250 points. Berlin Bike is only a scant 20.50 points ahead of their nearest competition and not having qualified need to hold onto that lead if they want to be part of the race.
This year’s race will be hosted by Bonk Hard Racing, a race organization known for setting up a grueling course, hence the name BONK HARD. But as has been said before ‘what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger’. I can only imagine how much time and effort Jason and his crew have put into setting the course. If you want to attend the race but don’t feel like racing there is always a need for volunteer help.
