Wulong Mountain Quest to take place in southern China from August 23rd - 26th

The Wulong Mountain Quest (WMQ) is the most prestigious adventure race in China and is inspiring to be the premier race in Asia and beyond. In 2007 the race will be held for the fifth time in Wulong County, Chong Qin, southern China from August 23rd to 26th. Wulong is an area of outstanding beauty with limestone mountains, the deep Wulong river gorge and the high plateau of the Fairy Meadow National Forest Park. All these areas and many more, will be traversed by the race course.

To make the race more appealing to international teams, a total prize purse of $US100,000 is up for grabs. The format of the race is a three day staged race, teams of 4, with daily racing times of between 6 and 9 hours. A short prologue will be held the day before the race. Nights will be spend in a comfortable race hotel.

The race is limited to 20 teams on a first come, first serve basis. The entry fee is 1000 US $. Already, some well-known international teams such as as Adventure Sport NZ (Richard Ussher, Elina Maki-Rautila, Aaron Prince, Luke Vaughan), Team Nike (Mike Kloser, Michael Tobin) Team SOLE (Paul Romero, Karen Lundgren, Petri Forsman, Tom Zidek), SPELEO SALOMON, NZ CAVALIERS, The North Face Summit and The North Face Flight have confirmed their participation.
