Team ACCELERATE To Defend Gaelforce 12 Title

Team Accelerate, winners of the 2006 Gael Force 12 challenge in the West of Ireland are to return in 2007 to defend their title.Gaelforce 12, the more challenging of the events taking place over the last weekend in August, is an expedition style course which includes off road adventure biking, mountain trekking, fell running, abseiling, kayaking and night navigation in some of the most scenic landscapes in Europe.
[On the same weekend Gael Force 6 also takes place and is designed for those new to Adventure Racing. GF6 offers a testing but achievable introduction to the sport and in includes a 20km of running/walking, including a trek up Croagh Patrick, 1.6 km kayak & a 44k bike ride.]
Team Accelerate will be lead by the vastly experienced Adam Haynes, who has competed in some of the toughest races across the globe. Racing with Adam will be Kev Honeysett, who was on last years winning Gael Force 12 team, Debbie Smith, who is no stranger to multi disciplined events and finished 10th in last years Tour du Mont Blanc, and Adam Macrinowicz who this was part of the winning team at the recent Powerbar 3 Peaks Yacht race.

Adam Haynes added; “I have heard so many good things about the Gael Force that I am keen to race in West Ireland.
