The 2008 Otway Odyssey will be held on Saturday February 23, 2008 and takes riders on an epic 100km mountain bike journey from Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road to the picturesque township of Forrest deep within the OtwaysYes, the atmosphere of 1000+ riders on the start line is electric, yes the scenery is spectacular, and yes 100km is a long way on a mountain bike… but when the day is done it’s the journey you’ll remember. This is a race along roller coaster single track so fun you’ll have a grin from ear to ear; it’s a race up hills so steep you’ll think your heart is going to leap from your chest; it’s a race down flowing fire roads and white knuckle double track that’ll put tears in your eyes and memories in your mind… and all this is amidst some of the most spectacular countryside you’ll ever see.
Yes, this is arguably the toughest mountain bike marathon in Australia but it’s the one that will give you experiences you will never forget.
The Otway Odyssey includes races of three different lengths to cater for all riders, all being held on Saturday February 23rd, 2008:
- The full Otway Odyssey – 100km from Apollo Bay to Forrest, ultimate bragging rights to all finishers!
- The Otway Shorty – 50km from Apollo Bay to Forrest, for those (just) a little softer on the inside!
- The Otway Pioneer – 15km starting and finishing at Forrest, for junior riders and novices.
