Champion ahead in Coast 2 Coast Trinidad

Defending champion Richard Ussher of New Zealand stormed to the lead on the first day of the Tropical Power Coast 2 Coast Multi-Sport event yesterday.

Ussher was timed in four hours and eight minutes for the first stage of the race, followed by South African Martin Dreyer (4hrs 29mins) and Clarence Tobias of Tobago (4hrs 50mins).

Ussher's wife, Elina Ussher (4hrs 51 mins), leads the female division, while the team of Robert Cadiz, Raymond Ramcharan and Earl Rahaman-Noronha (4 hrs 42 mins) are ahead in the relay division.
