IGWA Guadeloupe Adventure and the Aussie connection

Katrin and Richard have been selected to compete together with 30 international teams of two in the event supported by the Guadeloupe Tourism to promote the region. The course will alternate between traditional adventure racing activities, and some more unusual challenges and activities to showcase the islands.

Katrin (supported by Trek, Clarence St Cyclery) is best known for her prowess in riding Mountain Bikes all day, with 2 Australian 24hr solo titles & a 4th in world championships on her race CV. She is a bit concerned about a lack of MTB equipment in the mandatory gear list.

Richard is more comfortable with the format with an orienteering & running background, racing regularly with the NSW Stingers AR team. Navigationally, he will be looking to improve on the recent (little) mistake with team Terra-X at XPD on the famous Checkpoint 34 (dropping to 12th after a week an 700km in 3rd).

The entry list contains a wide mix of international competitors, with plenty of recognised names in there such as Team Sole, Atenah Natura, TSL Outdoor La Clusaz & Team Salomon to name a few.
