Last Few Places for Arctic Team Challenge

The Siku Extreme Arctic Challenge registration opened almost two weeks and with entries limited to 15 teams there are only a couple of places still available. So if you want to do a race in the most beautiful place on the planet, grab your mates and register.

The race dates are July 16-26th and the 5 day race includes 3 days of stage racing, followed by a 2 day ‘expedition race’ stage. The disciplines for the competition are mountain biking, canoeing (in amongst the icebergs), running/trekking in pristine mountains, mountaineering and many epic glacier traverses.

The entry fee includes the airfare from Iceland to Greenland and return, transport via boat or helicopter (dependant on iceberg conditions) for all teams from Kusuluk airport in Greenland to the race HQ at Tassiilaq, and accomodation from July 16th to 26th. Breakfast and dinners (buffet style) are provided from July 16 to 27th (with exception of day of expedition race of course), and at the mid camp there is a Greenlandic b-b-q and tented camp. This is the night of day 3 before the expedition stage and it’s incredible place you will be amazed by! Canoes and paddles are also provided, as well as a fantastic post-race party.

This is an epic event with incredible race staff and has a reputation amongst experienced international racers as one of the best and most memorable in the world. I was fortunate enough to compete in the 2007 race and have cleared my schedule specifically to go back in 2008. The logistics are simple (a real non-hassle gig), the gear list is simple, and for the entry fee you get almost everything covered that normally would cost an arm and a leg to experience a place like this. So, if you want to go to the true last frontier and have a giant grin on your face (due to the sheer beauty) from the moment the plane touches down till you leave then this is the race and place for you and your mates.
