Roundwood Biathalon
Brendan Lawlor / 12.12.2007
You can walk, run or cycle for fun or you can get your bike in gear, clean those runners and compete for the perpetual trophy. You start at the church with a 3 mile cycle, jump off your bike for a 2 mile run, then hop back on the bike for the final 2 mile cycle to the finish line at Kavanagh's pub. The action starts at 2 p.m. at the church (1:45 p.m. for walkers). All ages, shapes and sizes compete (or just have fun). There are great prizes for the first man and first woman, and spot prizes throughout the day for all who compete. All monies raised go to Cancer/Leukaemia research. The biathlon has been run since 2000 and has raised over €65,000 for this cause. How better to spend the day after St. Stephens Day than out in the fresh air with your loved ones and friends, and then finish your day at Kavanagh's Pub with complimentary hot soup and sandwiches supplied by Joe and Jeannette Kavangh. There will be a fun auction and already there are some super prizes. For further information, contact Louise on 086 2525860, Ellen on 086 8343286 or Noel on 01 2818179.
