The Brazil Wild Extreme - Corrida das Fronteiras (Borders Race) is the newest expedition race to be launched in Brazil and will take place from April 05-13th. The race will cross four States in northeast area of the country, passing through the most arid regions of Brazil. The union of two major forces was essential to produce and facilitate the event. “Brazil Wild made a partnership with Icontent which adds a lot. This is a company with great experience in entertainment and major events, working mainly in branding, logistics and the media involved, \"says the director of race, Julio Pieroni.
\"We were looking for an event of this magnitude for a long time, and our research led us to believe Brazil Wild is the ideal partner for this fantastic race,\" says Amaury Pekelman, from Icontent.
Famous for its hydroelectric dams, the city of Paulo Afonso (Bahia) will be the headquarters and the departure and arrival point of the race. The routes will be very technical, intelligent and well calibrated, and strength, speed and skills will be tested Only the most competent teams can expect to complete the route.
With a course that can reach up to 650 km, the disciplines of Brasil Wild Extreme – Corrida das Fronteiras will be mountain biking, swimming, canoeing, trekking, ropes and horseback riding.
\"We are very happy, exited and very motivated to build an event that Brazil has not seen yet.
Fortunately we already have enough sponsorship to make the event. We have an agreement with another big national company, but we have to await the signing of the contract before using their name. Beside this, what we can get will be used to enhance the event, offer more benefits to teams and journalists; have a cheaper entry fee and higher prize moneyâ€, also said Pieroni.
Pre-registration and entry can be made online and will be effective between Jan 29th. As yet the official website doesn’t have much English translation, but non-Portuguese speakers can contact the race to ask any questions in English. (It\'s worth watching the excellent website graphics anyway - even if you can\'t read the text!)
