Warrior. Legend. Icon

Such puff is rarely deserved but then along comes an athlete for whom a writers trick bag of metaphors and adjectives seems woefully inadequate..

Meet Tinker Juarez…

If you’re not hip to mountain biking’s most enduring icon here’s the download on Cannondale’s creme-de-la-creme. Tinker is now in the 21st season of an amazingly fruitful mountain bike racing career and we’re tickled pink to announce he’ll open his Lowan Otway Odyssey account next February 23 stamping himself as one of the events brightest stars and commanding favourite.

He’s a three-time U.S. National Champion, a two-time U.S. Olympian, a Pan Am Games Gold Medalist, World Championships Silver Medalist and current 24 hour solo World Champion. Impressive ‘ey? A deft touch for winning has certainly helped ensure his name is forever etched into mountain bike folklore but it’s his colourful personality and ready smile that has helped him earn a cult following around the globe. With his trademark dreads, he’s also one the sports most recognizable figures.

TJ “It\'s been a while since I\'ve been to Australia and the last trip was one of the best experiences in my career since it was the 2000 Olympics. I\'ve always wanted to come back and race and this race is the perfect reason. I\'m really looking forward to kicking it up a notch in the outback!\"
