Some of you climbers will know of a climbing cafe at Tremadog, Bwlch y Moch Cafe, owned by the famous Welsh climber and skydiver Eric Jones but who is Eric?

His passion has been free solo climbing with many ascents in Britain and the Alps. The most notable ones being The Central Pillar of Brouillard on Mt Blanc, Bonatti Pillar on the Dru and the north faces of the Matterhorn, Eiger and Piz Badile.

Expeditions to Cerro Torre, Torre Egger and the Southern Icecap in Patagonia, Dhaulagiri and two to Mt Everest. All of these were filmed for television by Leo Dickinson.

Base Jumping:-
A late starter at 50 years old ! his first jump was the first ever Base jump off the Eiger, followed by building and bridge jumps in the United States, Angel Falls in Venezuela and the Cave of the Swallows ion Mexico.

Skydiving:-
Skydiving was his first extreme sport with jumps onto the North Pole and down the east face of Cerro Torre in Patagonia. In 1991 he was a member of a four man team which flew two hot air balloons over Mt Everest. This adventure gained three entries in the Guinness Book of Records.
