Sealskinz to Launch Bike Socks and Gloves

Rob / 14.03.2004
At the recent ISPO trade show SealSkinz announced they were expanding their product range, and of most interest is the addition of cycle socks and winter cycling gloves, which will be in the shops in a couple of weeks.

Like other Sealskinz products the breathable, ankle length socks are 100% waterproof and are said (by the SealSkinz Research and Development team) to suit road cycling, mountain biking, downhill and cyclo cross in milder weather conditions. They are the thinnest socks ever to be made by SealSkinz and have a CoolMax inner sock for improved wicking.

The Winter Cycle Glove is the only cycle glove to feature the waterproof/breathable Porelle DXT lining used by Sealskinz. The gloves are designed to provide great feel and performance and features include, padded palm at the pressure points, toweling snot wipe on back of thumb, grip dots to finger ends, stretch fabric for excellent fit and comfort, black neoprene and velcro cuffs.

They will be available in mid blue, black and grey and Sealskinz modestly say they are ... “expected to be a revolution in bike glove technology”, and “are bound to cause a stir amongst keen cyclists”.

Sounds like they could be ideal for both winter and summer racing and we’ll try to get some on test shortly. (Their new Merino wool socks and waterproof cap might be good for marshalling too!)
