Open5 at Pateley Bridge

25.02.2008
After a successful opening event in North Yorkshire last month, the second Mountain Hardwear Open5 race of the year heads for Pateley Bridge in the Yorkshire Dales on 9th March. Nidderdale is a beautiful area with fantastic paths and bridleways giving excellent running and biking, and race organiser Dave Johnson is sure to capitalise on this to maximise value for competitors!

It’s the usual simple format for Open5 events. Register at the event centre any time from 8.30 to 10.00 and collect a map with 2 sections - one bike, one run - with controls marked. At the start you're given details of how many points each control carries, in general the more distant controls carry less points. Start anytime from 9.30 to 10.30 – it’s up to you to decide whether to bike or run first, and which controls to visit - you have 5 hours to visit as many as possible.

There are several different categories - male or female solo, or male/female/mixed pairs. Entries before 6 March cost £23, or £30 on the day.
