Over $10,000 worth of prizes up for grabs at the Lifestart Kayak for Kids event! (NSW)

Diane Chanut - AROC Sport / 11.03.2008
Prizes will be awarded to each category winners and to the best fundraising teams.

The event is going to be a super-fun one, taking in the best of the Sydney Harbour sights.

Paddlers will start from Manly Wharf on Sunday morning 30 March 2008, and will make their way along the North shore of the Sydney Harbour, cross Middle Harbour before the Spit Bridge and finish in Lavender Bay past the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Participants can paddle their own boat if they choose so, but the best part about this event is that you don’t even need to have a kayak to participate! The Teams Challenge includes a very stable 3-person sit-on-top kayak, complete with paddles and life jackets!

Finally, because not everyone is keen to paddle the full distance, the course is broken down into 5 sections of 3-5km, which can be paddled by a relay team.

The ultimate goal of this event is to help raise funds for Lifestart, an early childhood intervention program for children with intellectual disabilities or delays in development including Autism and Down Syndrome.
This is one great opportunity to help these children reach their potential while having a great time on the water.

It’s a great day for you… and a better lifetime for them.
