Rob Howard / 17.04.2008
The next round of the SKINS Six in the Peak Adventure Race Series takes place this coming weekend at Carsington Water. The event involves adventure running, biking and navigation, and in addition there will be the usual surprise element, which is looking likely to be a kayak stage on Carsington.

Open to both solos and pairs registration is from 8am with the first competitors away from 9am.

Due to ever increasing requests Dark and White Challenge events are introducing a new 3 and a half hour event as part of the ‘Six’ hour event. This little brother is open to all comers and hopes to encourage newcomers into the sport with cycling and running controls to visit.

Adrian Boyes of Dark and White explained, “As with the longer six hour event, to qualify as a finisher on the shorter event you only have to visit a minimum of one running control or one mountain bike control, so if you favour one of the disciplines the opportunity to try adventure racing for the first time is available”.

In addition the new event is also trying to encourage youngsters into the sport. For anyone entering the Generation Class there is a ‘Buy One Get One Free Place’ incentive available to a parent and offspring, in the new shorter event. Full details can be found on the Dark and White Website.

Prize giving will take place following the Skins Six in the Peak event and will involve both SKINS and Buff.

Accelerateuk.com, the Official Retailer of the Event Series will be on hand to advise anyone on the SKINS range and the latest in Adventure Racing gear and kit should they need it.
