The ARA is Back!
Rob / 14.04.2004
After a prolonged disappearance the ARA (Adventure Racing Assoc.) email group is back up and running again. After overcoming some technical hitches and moving to a new host it restarted with Volume 1 No.1 today, with a welcome back message from it’s administrator Robert Nagle. He began the service in 1997, so it\'s been around since the early days of adventure racing, and as Nagle says has “has evolved as the sport has.â€
There have some minor technical changes and those already subscribed may have a new password, but otherwise it’s much as before and will once again provide an international forum for Adventure Racing issues and be “a location for advocacy on behalf of the sportâ€. The archive of past postings will also be put back up in the near future.
In the first posting on the relaunched list Nagle commented, “I am glad to announce that the ARA list is back online. My sincere apologies to the many of you who were affected by this prolonged outage. I received many inquiries so I know the list has been missed.â€
If you want to know more about the history of the ARA see our earlier news story here, and if you’d like to sign up you do so here.
