Rob / 06.05.2004
This summer sees the start of Dynamic Adventure Racing\'s training events. Taking place over June 19/20th it will include talks, practice and demonstrations is to be set in the North Downs at Felbury House near Guildford.

The timetable is already packed with opportunities for participants to learn and develop the skills needed for one and two day adventure races. Sessions will be based around navigation, running, MTB and the use of the infamous ACE races sevylor kayaks, with talks on training, nutrition and race strategies from experienced racers.

Tea, Saab Salomon, the UK\'s top team, are supporting the event and Tom Gibbs and Ben Bardsley will spend time sharing secrets and coaching budding racers on the route to improvement. Tom and Ben’s incredible depth of experience in racing the world over at the very highest level will be shared with those attending the course.

Course Director James Thurlow said; \"The selection of facilitators has been made with an emphasis on navigation, I firmly believe that on most events those that walk or push a bike round and have excellent navigation won\'t come last - and that is where we hope to start on this weekend, building on the foundation of navigation and not moving fast in the wrong direction\".

James highlights that the only racing on the weekend will be the mini race on the Sunday, \"The weekend is about learning and getting live feedback from the facilitators. We want participants to come away having experienced situations that many of us do for the first time only in an event, be it towing, eating a gel or paddling an inflatable kayak.”

Anyone interested in this first Dynamic Adventure Racing Training weekend, or the second one scheduled for October should see the website, or if you have any questions about the weekend you can give James Thurlow a call on 07813 011775.
