Trailquest Series
18.03.2009
This Sunday the 22nd of March sees the start of the Trailblazers spring trailquest series. The series kicks off with the first round event being held near picturesque village of Claudy in Co. Derry. Event organiser Des Fletcher has selected the quite country roads and lanes in the Burntollet valley, for those who prefer a bit more of an off-road challenge there are the forest tracks of the Loughermore forest. For those not in the know, trailquest or lanequest is basically a bike navigation score event. Teams are given a time limit (2 or 4 hours) to find as many control points as possible. Control points are given differing points value depending on how easy they are to get. Teams that are late returning however are penalised and start losing points. This form of bike navigation is more than just excellent fun and fitness – It’s a chance for all you adventure racers out there to brush up on your navigational skills!
The overall category winners (teams with the best 4 results out of the series) will win prizes kindly donated by our sponsors Buffwear and Compasspoint. For more info on the trailblazers trailquest series please visit: http://trailblazersmtbo.wordpress.com/
