Fast paced multisport action returns to the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park

Maximum Adventure / 02.04.2009
This means The Go Natural Multisport is probably your best opportunity to race through some of the best scenery on Sydney\'s Northern Beaches. So keep August 15th free.

Athletes race from Akuna Bay to Apple Tree Bay in solo, pairs or relay categories and will be tested with a 32km road bike, a 12km flatwater kayak and a magnificent 12km trail run along Kierans Creek.

Don\'t take the event lightly, although it certainly will suit a broad range of fitness types the course can be zapping, the initial 32km road ride takes competitors on a gruelling climb out of Akuna Bay and out along the West Head Rd which is anything but flat before returning to Akuna Bay, the following kayak leg is sheltered in the valleys of the park on the southern feeder tributaries of the Hawkesbury River, it makes you realise why the river was used during wartime to hide submarines away from prying eyes (the old submarine pens are on the Jerusalem Ck side west of West Head). The kayak leg takes you past the hamlet of Cottage Point and down towards Bobbin Head, its here the hard yards start, the 12km trail run IS NOT flat, and every time you seem to climb away from the river you drop back down, ultimately you do climb up onto the ridgeline before descending back to Bobbin Head and the last pinch back to Apple Tree Bay.

The event is popular with competitors around the country and limited to 300 so get your entries in now click on the race website HERE.
