Richard Ussher will be back to defend his title at Sweden’s Åre Extreme Challenge

Richard Ussher will be back to defend his title at Sweden’s Åre Extreme Challenge, this time with wife Elina. They will each compete in the race’s solo classes.

The one-day adventure race is set for June 27th in Ã…re, Sweden, and it is the final event in a week of races whicn include single-discipline events: mountain-biking, mountain running, and kayaking.

The adventure race includes all three of these disciplines - a 25 km kayak section that includes both flatwater and whitewater (that the organizers note as being “not very difficult”, then a mountain run that gains and drops 1000 m elevation, followed by a 35 km mountain bike section. Team categories are solo, pair, and three-person relay.
