Tackling the S.O.D.

News Release / 24.08.2009
An exciting new race has been launched in Sussex and the organisers say it offers a perfect training event for adventure racers.

The Sussex Obstacle Dash is expected to attract thousands of runners on November 8th 2009 at the South of England Centre in November. The event offers team entries of 2, 3 and 4 people and has a tiered structure of distances enabling longer distance athletes to do them all.

Dan James, Event Director, said: "We have a 2.5km, 5km and 10km race which will see athletes tackling a series of obstacles including horse jumps, water jumps and other challenges. As the distance starts will be staggered the really keen athlete can enter all the distances to cover 17.5km. It will be a tough training event for adventure race athletes."

The event can be entered from just £9 and is based at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex. The race organiser is Sussex based firm Urbanrace Limited who also manage The Sussex Triathlon and The Brighton Triathlon. The company also played an integral part in one of the few city centre triathlons in the UK when The Liverpool Triathlon took place in June 2009 around The Albert Dock and Echo Arena in Merseyside.

More information and entries for The Sussex Obstacle Dash can be made at the event website www.urbanrace.co.uk or telephone 020 7993 4817 for more information.
