It was 1991, pre Eco Challenge, the only other events around to attract multipsorters were the Thredbo Enduro and Tumut Triathlon, and the Wagga Workout Triathlon, all had kayaking as an integral part of their events, 19 years on, they have all fallen by the wayside together with the JLL Multisport Race, Arrow Adventure Race and the Forster Ironman, to name a few, but Gloucester lives on.

The only race of its type were the volunteers almost out number the entrants, on the 2nd Sunday in September more than 300 athletes from around the country descend on the the country town just over an hour west of Forster on the NSW mid north coast.

The race consists of a 22km MTB, from the towm of Gloucester out over the Gloucester Bucketts to Rocky Crossing were competitors transition to an 11km Kayak in Grade 1ish/2ish whitewater down to Barrington, before running the 9km back to Gloucester and the Finish Line.
