In less than 7 hours, 500 teams of 4 will set off Teams set off in three waves at 7.00am, 8:30am and 9:30am starting at Parsley Bay, George Street, Brooklyn on a 100km journey/run/walk/expedition call it what you will<br /> <br /> The first teams are expected around 7.30pm on Friday evening at Georges Heights Oval, Mosman and the majority of teams will cross the finish line from 7am Saturday August 29. The event was conceived as a military training exercise by Gurkhas based in Hong Kong, and so far over the 11 years of Oxfam TRAILWALKER in Australia walkers have helped raise over $25 million for Oxfam Australia’s work to help communities around the world overcome poverty and injustice. The event sees a broad cross section of folk competing for a cause against the clock, themselves and each other in Teams of 4 covering 100km in less than 48hrs primarily on the Great North Walk and the Harbour to Hawkesbury Walking Track in the bushland of northern Sydney
