Adventure Sports Magazine Online
Rob / 06.08.2004
Adventure Sports Magazine, which is just about the only print publication dedicated to adventure racing, is now available on-line.Their new service is a complete, page for page, web version of the print magazine. Using a menu you just select article you want and read the scanned version. The web site delivery by a service called ‘Texterity’ is very impressive, and you can even change the print size or email the page to a friend.
The magazine is produced in the U.S. and naturally has a strong U.S. bias, but it does cover the international race scene and have the training and gear features you’d expect, as well as some great pictures.
For their international readers (outside the USA) the new service offers much quicker delivery than waiting for the print version to arrive by post. (The August on-line version was up some time ago, but there is no sign of the magazine in my letter box yet.) And in future some subscribers may opt for the on-line version only, though the price for that has yet to be announced.
However, at the moment you can see the June and August issues for free, and the next 3 issues as well. To introduce more readers to ASM, the publishers are offering a free trial of the on-line service for the rest of this year. (August, September, October and Nov/Dec issues).
You can look over a demo version of the June issue on their web site here, and if you like it and sign up they’ll email you a link the remaining issues as they are published online.
