You are travelling at 10 500 ft on an obscure pathway along a Continental Divide ridgewalk when the warmth of the morning sun hits your face for the first time. The glare from the glacial ice forces you to move from clear glasses to UV protected sunglasses. You still have 10 kms of extreme mountaineering and wilderness travel to reach TA 3. You are into day 3 of your 10 day adventure. This is real Canadian Rocky Mountain Expedition Adventure racing!

This is Best of the West for 2010! A 10 day non-stop expedition adventure race taking place July 09-19 2010 which will provide co-ed teams of four some of the most challenging, yet rewarding, terrain that the Canadian Rockies has to offer. Teams will travel through the wilderness covering approx 750 kms on foot, mountain bike, rafts, kayaks and ropes while navigating their way to checkpoints with map and compass. Varied mixed terrain that will be the race course is comprised of large scree slopes, Glaciers, white-water rivers, pristine glacial fed lakes, single track trails under a treed canopy and high on a ridgeline and of course elevation gains and losses to awe inspire.
