OS-Direct Wins AREuroSeries

The Ukrainian-Russian team OS-Direct has proven to be the strongest European adventure racing team in 2009.From six AREuroSeries' races they won two, and in both cases it was by a big margin. In the Ferrino Extreme Marathon, they won by eight hours and in the Czech Adventure Race by six hours. They also participated in the Russian Red Fox Adventure Race where they did not finish, but this did not matter in final standings. With 41 points OS-Direct is rightfully the winner of the 2009 AREuroSeries.
Second place was taken by Czech team AlpinePro/Nutrend/Merida,who managed to finish second in the European Championships in Slovenia and third in their home Czech Adventure Race.
Polish team Napieraj.pl took virtual bronze medals, being third on Adventure Racing Poland Championships and tenth in Slovenia. Fourth place is shared by multiple teams that won their home race, but did not participate in any other events. That was ,for example, the case of Swedish team Herkules, who won Tieto Adventure (now to be known as Le Grand Tour), but that was their only race in the series.
The AREuroSeries is a collection of seven races from 6 European countries: Ukraine, Sweden, Russia, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Poland. One race took a break from adventure racing calendar in 2009 but it will be back in 2010.
Teams that want their results counted must only use two new members in each race, so that continuity within the team is clearly visible. That was the case of Polish team 360. They would have been second, if they counted as one team. But four completely new people raced in their second race, so they are counted as two distinct teams.
