7th Wave Productions announce 2010 lineup

From April to September, there will be 12 Adventure Races, four XTERRAs, and four Trail Running races. In addition to these races, 7th Wave Productions will host Adventure Sports Week, a week devoted to multisport activities and competitions, the 29th Annual Donner Lake Triathlon, and put on a variety of sport clinics taught by the pro’s themselves.

The first event kicks off with the Folsom Lake Sprint Adventure Race. Sprint races provide a great introduction into adventure racing by allowing a participant to get a sense of each discipline without having to worry about the navigation element. Once having participated in a sprint, the next step is to up the challenge by participating one of the other Adventure Races held throughout the summer. As in all the adventure races, a 6-12 hour race is held in conjunction with the sprint distance so beginners or those looking for a shorter format are always welcome.

There will also be four XTERRAs, which provide an off-road format to the traditional triathlon. XTERRA’s, like triathlons, follow the same disciplines but take them off-road by incorporating mountain biking and trail running.

For those seeking a traditional triathlon, 7th Wave Productions will host one of the most beautiful and scenic, the 29th annual Donner Lake Triathlon. The Donner Lake Triathlon takes athletes up old historic route U.S. 40 featuring spectacular views of one of the most picturesque alpine lakes anywhere.

In addition to the multisport events, trail running races cater to both long and short distances, ranging from 5K to marathon distances.

Whether you want to brush up on skills, learn some tips from the pro’s or are a beginner, 7th Wave Productions will be putting on several clinics throughout 2010 focusing on the various sports and skills used in the races. These clinics will be taught by pros and are scheduled to correspond with an upcoming event.
